SYNOPSIS: The King Always Gets His Way. Women, business, pleasure: When I want it, I get it. I'm never denied. Including her. I will break her. I will show her who the king of this city really is. The Feisty Princess of Manhattan will learn I am not a man that can be tempted. No matter how damn bad I want her in my bed...
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Michelle A. Valentine is a Central Ohio nurse turned author of erotic romance and New Adult novels. Her love of hard-rock music, tattoos and sexy musicians inspired her BLACK FALCON series.
MY REVIEW: “Every single woman I’ve been with has convinced herself that she’d be the one to tame me. That her magical pussy would make me fall madly in love with her- that I’d marry her and sign over half of my fortune.” Alexander King.
Yes. He’s an asshole and he knows it. But he’s rich and successful and planning his next corporate takeover with his eyes set on Buchanan Enterprises. The only thing in his way is his assistant, Margo Buchanan who just happens to be the daughter of his next take down. She’s the male version of Alexander King and she won’t go down without a fight! Oh and she’s drop dead gorgeous.
The tension these two characters exhibit is brilliantly written. Neither one of them can stand the other, and the back and forth bickering is hilarious. Alexander telling Margo, "Well I’m glad that you've learned barging in without knocking is rude as fuck." Or how about when Alexander reminds Margo that his coffee mug is empty as she silently scoffs. "Are his legs fucking broken?"
The pair are so wrong for each other it makes it right. The buildup is perfect and the affair is explosive. Oh and that cliffhanger??? So cliché with Vegas as the backdrop but it still makes for an exciting book #2 because it’s the very thing neither of them wanted! How are they going to settle this major life event that they happened to drunkenly rope themselves into? They are fighters so I’m interested to see if their relationship (can we call it that yet) is something they see worth fighting for?
Hats off to Ms. Valentine. She’s got her literary claws into me and even though this is my first time reading her works, she can be placed right at the top next to some of my favorite authors. I have a feeling I am going to become very familiar with her works in a very short time!
