MY REVIEW
I love how relatable and down-to-earth this story is. Bronte Huntington (hote-toyte fancy name) is a young writer, who sometimes feels insecure about her writing, especially while reading with a ‘more literary group’ as she put it. She's waiting patiently for Mr. Right, and when he finally appears, he’s not a six foot tall block of pure muscle with predatory eyes ready to sexually devour her. Instead, he’s a five foot six ginger, bundled up in layers of clothing. And get this...he likes BOOKS!
Well sadly, Bronte doesn’t know what’s standing in front of her, so she completely ignores this man who is absolutely the one for her. Rather than get swept away by the incredibly nice and attentive ginger, Bronte decides to humor herself in a stale relationship between her and some handsome Lord she recently met. I get it, he’s rich and extremely hot, but he’s just not the one for her.
I have to admit, I was a little confused about the time era this story is supposed to take place. When Bronte recalls her ex-boyfriend, the lead guitarist of a washed up band, and top cheater of the century, it sounds present day, but then Bronte scurries away to a cottage in the woods and all of a sudden she has time-hopped into Thornfield Hall, getting rescued by Mr. Rochester while he gallivanting across the countryside on his horse.
I loved the character development of every character. From Sebastian’s grumpy parents, to Ryan’s awesome family. Bronte’s perfect best friend, and Sebastian’s clueless persona. They all fit so well together to form this story that I completely loved reading. I suspected right from the beginning who Bronte would end up with, but it was still very fun to read through her lousy choices and humorous situations she continued to get herself into each and every time she visited Lord Sebastian. I enjoyed the story so much that I will be looking to more works by Ms. Bennet.
