SYNOPSIS: What happens when the perfect girl goes bad?
Nora Blakely has everything any nineteen-year-old girl could desire. She’s an accomplished pianist, a Texas beauty queen, and on her way to Princeton.
Until she cracks wide open.
Leaving behind her million-dollar mansion and Jimmy Choos, she becomes a girl hell-bent on pushing the limits with alcohol, drugs, and meaningless sex.
Then she meets her soulmate Leo. But he doesn’t want her.
Twenty-five-year-old Leo Tate has one rule: never fall in love. His gym and his brother are all he cares about...until Nora shows up. He resists the pull of their attraction, hung up on their six year age difference.
As they struggle to stay away from each other, secrets will be revealed, tempers will flare, and hearts will be broken.
About the Author: New York Times and USA Today best selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills writes about strong heroines and sexy alpha males that sometimes you just want to slap.
She's addicted to dystopian books and all things fantasy, including unicorns and sword-wielding females. Other fascinations include frothy coffee beverages, dark chocolate, Instagram, Ian Somerhalder (seriously hot), astronomy (she's a Gemini), and tattoos.
She has a degree in English and a Master's in Education.
When she's not pecking away on her computer, she shops for cool magnets and paints old furniture.
MY REVIEW: Over 80 of my goodreads friends have read and reviewed this book, so it was pretty much a MUST for me to check out.
Nora Blakely is a privileged girl with outrageous expectations from her well-to-do mother. Her mother dictates every aspect of her life, from what school she’ll attend down to the last bit of food she will eat. And no matter how hard she tries, she’s never good enough. I will say that while Nora seemed like a very interesting character, I just wasn’t ready to jump into another y/a novel with high school issues and a PG romance. I almost tossed this book after the first chapter. Until I met Leo…
Leo. Leo. Leo. You had me at former musician turned rich business man.
At first, he was this super-hot, hunky business man trying to fight off this attraction he had towards some high school aged girl. I loved where the story was leading.
But the more I read about Leo, the faster the fire dwindled down to nothing. Every word out of his mouth made him sound more juvenile than Nora! But then what did I expect reading about a 26 year old man who surrounds himself around his younger brothers teenage friends all day, and has no friends of his own. He’s not man enough for me, but Nora on the other hand…
Leo’s perfect for Nora because she’s 50 shades of all fucked up. She carries a knife around, as well as a list of all the “bad things” she wants to do. Meaningless sex, drugs, tattoos, you name it!
The story kept my attention and Nora was easy to fall in love with. I guess my main problem was the neediness of Leo. Sometimes, he made me want to barf. But I’m definitely interested to continue this series since they’re all stand-alones which means I won’t have to hear about Leo Tate anymore.
